Last night was a great night Mike and I went to see Hadley! On our way down to the Hospital they called to let us know that the Neuro-Surgeon had been in to see Hadley and was asking him a few things. He had asked Hadley to hold up his thumb and Hadley did it!! He also asked him to hold up two fingers and Hadley was trying to hold up his index finger! We were so relieved to hear this new and couldn't wait to get down there to see him. He looked good and his levels were staying down where they needed to be. The nurse explained everything to us and let us know what they are wanting to see. The nurses have been wonderful and very helpful to answer any questions or just to explain what they are doing. They are wanting the levels to stay down and slowly take the sedation drug off to see how Hadley will react. When we were there he was moving his arms and legs quite a bit, and he even yawned a few times. The nurse said that when he starts to show signs of being irriatated with the tubes and things in his throat that she will turn the sedation back up and let him rest. They will keep repeating this process over and over to see how he reacts. The nurse told us that she thought Hadley looked better last night then he did the night before which was very comforting.
Today Sheila called to let us know how the night went and how her visit this morning was. We can go and see Hadley anytime except 6:30-8:30 morning and night this is the time when they are doing all the paper work and when there shift change is. Sheila was in today before shift change and was letting Hadley know that she was going to let him rest for a while and she was going to go and get cleaned up. Before she left Hadley squoze her hand and moved his finger a little bit. He even reached his other hand over to like he was wanting to grab on to her. We are so excited and hope that he will keep moving forward, the little steps help toward the big steps and we know he can do it we just have to keep cheering for him and be there to support him. Keep up the good work Had we love you!
